The power of family

It is amazing how just meeting up with extended family can cheer you up.

On Sunday we went to my Parents' Golden Wedding anniversary. For a number of reasons I wasn't really looking forward to it. There would be the dreaded question; "What are you doing?".  In the end it was a really great day with a fantastic meal at the Roman Camp in Callendar, followed by a pleasant tea at my parents with the kids being looked after really well by their eldest cousins.

I actually came away from the day feeling really quite positive and stimulated. My eldest nephew,  was a great sounding board for me, and had some interesting ideas.

People at the party made me feel worthwhile and the smile I went in wearing became more and more genuine as the day went on. I made me feel incredibly lucky, as lets  face it we can't choose our relations.

It made me go into the week with a spring in my step.
