Grateful eye monitoring
Sometimes in life it is great to hear from someone, advising you to change something, or do something differently. This is a great way for them to show that they care. It is not that they are monitoring you, or telling you what to do. It is just that they think, if you keep on a certain path you might regret it in the long run.
It may be you have made a mistake, or done something that in hindsight is obviously silly. So it is good when someone advises you to change it before it is too late. I am sure we can all think of someone who could have had a better life, if only someone else had advised them to stop doing something before it was too late.
A simple example of this is when a parent keeps an eye on what their kids are doing online. The child might not appreciate it at the time, but it is for their own safety and as they grow up they will understand this. With all the cyber bullying that goes on these days, monitoring like this can help parents protect their children at school too.
So be grateful when someone shows they have been keeping a friendly eye on you. This might be a colleague, a friend or a member of your family. If you are grateful it will stop you worrying about it, help you act on their advice and learn from it.
