Grateful for Life

There are times when you feel you just can't carry on, and you can't see a way forward. I'm speaking personally here.

When you hear an interview like the one I heard Jeremy Vine two with a former SAS officer and a survivor of Bergen Belsen. Then you know how fortunate we are and how little we have to complain about.

The officer was the first allied solider into Belsen and one of the first ladies he met there was this survivor. Places like that, and the massacre in Syria, prove that there are some strange people in this world; for whom the lives of others are cheap. When in fact life is so incredibly precious and something for which we should be extremely grateful.

The life of babies is especially precious and unfortunately not all babies have a good start in life. A friend of ours was pregnant and unfortunately it resulted in a stillbirth. With 17 babies being stillborn or dying shortly afterwards everyday, this is not uncommon. A fact that doesn't make it any easier to deal with, but with the help of  Sands it can be made a bit easier.

For those babies that are born preamture but survive the work of Bliss helps the parents cope with the termoil they find themselves  in.

We need to be grateful for everything we have and when you start your day thinking this you can find a way to carry on
