A great way to escape TV

When you have young kids it is too easy to set them down in front of the electronic nanny while you do the housework, or look for a job, or do something else. As Erica Douglas of Ace Inspire said in her interview with Gillian Marles on BBC Radio Scotlands' Mums Mean Business, it is important to allocate time to kids and let them know when it is. As I mention in my website (www.home-earning-parent.com) she built a business from a blog to be around for her daughter. So when this time is focused on the kids you want to really make the most of it. Season tickets can be a great way to make the most your money and your time. This is especially so when the organisations have a monthly direct debit that cost less than £10. As is the case with Historic Scotland. It means you can visit their sites, have a great day, or hour, and educate your kids. Inspiring them to want to learn and think rather than just watch telly. So when they come back and you are busy doing whatever, they pick up a book or draw something. In addition to that they have something unusual to talk to their friends about at school. This gives you a feeling you are doing them some good and stops you feeling guilty. Plus you get to spend some quality time with them.
