Feel the fear and do it anyway

It can often be hard, or seemingly unnatural to you, to stand up to those you love and respect. When they come out with negative comments because they are so used to doing so to you. It can't be hard to say to them; that was unhelpful. This is what they need to hear though, otherwise they will just keep doing it. I am in a similar situation and get annoyed about it, which compounds the draining affect it has on me and my immediate family. When you are trying to build yourself up after a few years of knock backs, you don't need addition drains on your self esteem. As Darren Hardy says you may need to disassociate yourself from these people. In case you don't want to be that drastic then can I advise, as I will be doing, reading Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers. According to my other half it is not a comfortable read, but can help you turn fear into confidence that you can apply to different situations from relationships to work tasks. This can help you assert yourself and gain promotion.
