Walking Gratitude

When you have the time, and sometimes even when you think you don't have the time; it can be worth making the time to go for a walk. Yesterday I was reminded that I had signed up for a nature walk with my daughters nursery. I had forgotten all about it, but I jiggled things about and made time to do it. I was really glad I did. I have lived in the area for most of my life and to find such a beautiful place virtually on my doorstep was mind blowing. It was great to see the autumn colours in the trees and really helped me put my life in perspective. It was great to meet some of the other parents and be involved in the education of my daughter and her class mates. So I was grateful to the lady at nursery who phoned to remind me and for the beuatiful weather we had. Sometimes in life simple things like walking in a park or a garden can really help you feel better. After all walking is free, and whilst not everyone can do it, if you can you should. It is a simple excercise that helps your mind think more clearly, and positively. Then you can work out ways to improve your lot, by yourself. This might mean taking a job that others would think beneath them, but can help you build your self esteem and confidence. By doing so you might find that others actually respect you and admire you more for doing so.
Whilst walking and rebuilding your self confidence by taking a lowly position might not feel like fast track. It can earn you more than money, though excercise, mental health and respect. As they say every journey begins witha single step.
