Are you inspiring?

It is always great when you hear someone refers to you as an inspiring person. We can all think of others that inspire us. Whether it is Mother Theresa, Richard Branson, Desmond Tutu, or Winston Churchill, we all have someone we admire. Yesterday while talking to a colleague at work, who I had not really met before she said to me that I could have a career as an inspirational speaker. I laughed as this person is much younger than me and possibly not had enough experience of the world yet. I did take it as a compliment and asked her why she thought that. She said simply what you said in the last few minutes made a lot of simple sense. It got me thinking what makes an inspirational person. For me the people I admire and who inspire me have in the main been people who took on a challenge, believed they could do something when all around them were laughing at the thought or saying no. Maybe it was that they had huge challenges in their personal life to overcome; or just that they had great willpower and tenacity. Could I really stand infront of people and inspire them? Why would people listen to me, let a lone pay money to hear what I have to say? Aren't these the sort of uestions we often ask ourselves when we face a challenge that we think is too difficult? Maybe she was right, but maybe I am deluded and getting carried away. Today I hae a small challenge to face in that I have been asked to do something, and have said I would be interested in meeting to discuss it. I am worried about the time I can give to it, but it could be fantastic if it works.
