Thank you for the journey

Life is a journey with all the ups and downs that that involves. To use an analogy there are often some sizeable potholes in the road; but they can be overcome, and when you do you will feel all the better for it. Just like road signs, there are significant markers along the way. These markers or rights of passage can be really enjoyable, and a chance to thank those who helped us get there. The journey hopefully will be long, and along the way you can have duanting challenges that test your metal. A friend is getting on a plan today to go to New Zealand to start a new job. Moving to the other side of the world is quite a journey and fear of the unknown is always daunting. If you rise to challenges your will stronger. Last night was Halloween and in Scotland children went out gysing, where they had to do a perormance before getting a treat. It is interesting to watch as children grow in confidence over the years, and this confidence gets repaid by treats as a reward. It is a good lesson for them to learn that in the journey of life, you get rewarded when you do something. Sometimes though the reward isn't monetary or edible, but a feeling of gratification when someone says thank you; or you know you have done something good. It is this feeling of gratification that helps you keep going when the road of life is steep and rough. You can then look back on the journey you have come with pride and thank those who got you there.
