Grateful for a boring life
Sometimes you can feel down about the boring, mundane, normal life you lead and you can wish for fame, money, and power. Be careful what you wish for though, as all that glitters is not gold. There is nothing wrong with wanting more as it motivates you to get up in the morning.
However it is good to be grateful for what you have. Having watched the brilliant programme on BBC4 called Days of their lives, about Queen, it is clear that Freddie Mercury had a fantastic talent which he used really well to turn him, and the band, into the legend he wanted to be; with all the money and fame that came with it. Yet was he happy? If they had not gone to Munich would he still be alive and producing great music? Not that there is anything wrong with Munich, it was just unfortunate that he met people there who maybe weren't the best of influences on him.
They saw his fame and wanted a bit of him, without necessarily making him happy in the long term. Paul Gascoigne also had money, fame and talent but is clearly unhappy. Thank fully he has great friends who can help him out.
The Pope has resigned because he does feel he has the health to carry on. He has a lot of power, but it would seem he is unhappy with it.
So we are better to embrace the mundane, be grateful for where we are and use it to support our drive to improve our lot. As their are people in an unhappier place, who might appear to have it all.
